This was the final project in my Photoshop I class. The goal was to create an infographic, the subject matter being left up to the students. For my project, I chose to convert the information contained in J.K. Rowling’s book, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, into graphical form.
The data is split into two depictions – one with the creatures grouped by danger classification, and the other showing the location of each creature on the world map. Each icon (creature icons in the top graphic and map markers in the lower) is color coded according to the creature’s classification.
Because the information I chose to base the graphic on is copyrighted (and the profits from the book itself went to charity), I didn’t feel comfortable putting the full version of the graphic online – the original file is as big as a full-size poster.
